Q. How are Black Ink and Gray Ink calculated?
Black Ink counts the number of times a player leads his league in a variety of important stats.
Gray Ink is nearly the same, but it counts the number of appearances in the league's top ten.
The criteria for both batters and pitchers are listed below:

For Batters:
  4.0 pts for HR, RBI, or Avg
  3.0 pts for R, H, or Slg
  2.0 pts for 2B, BB, or SB
  1.0 pts for G, AB, or 3B

For Pitchers:
  4.0 pts for W, ERA-S, or SO
  3.0 pts for IP, Pct-S, or Sv
  2.0 pts for CG, BBIP-S, or HIP-S
  1.0 pts for G, GS, or QS


Q. How is HOF Standard calculated?
HOF Standard attempts to measure the overall quality of a player's career.
The criteria for both batters and pitchers are listed below:

For Batters:
  Career H:        1.0 pts per  150 over 1500, limit 10
  Career Avg:      1.0 pts per .005 over .275, limit  9
  Career Avg:      1.0 pts for .300+
  Career R:        1.0 pts per  100 over  900, limit  8
  Career R/G:      1.0 pts for .500+
  Career R/G:      1.0 pts for .644+
  Career RBI:      1.0 pts per  100 over  800, limit  8
  Career RBI/G:    1.0 pts for .500+
  Career RBI/G:    1.0 pts for .600+
  Career Slg:      1.0 pts per .025 over .300, limit 10
  Career OBP:      1.0 pts per .010 over .300, limit 10

Q. How is HOF Monitor calculated?
HOF Monitor attempts to assess a player's chances of making the Hall of Fame.
The criteria for both batters and pitchers are listed below:

For Batters:
  Avg Seasons:    15.0 pts per .400+, 5.0 pts per .350+, 2.5 pts per .300+
  H Seasons:       5.0 pts per  200+
  RBI Seasons:     3.0 pts per  100+
  R Seasons:       3.0 pts per  100+
  HR Seasons:     10.0 pts per   50+, 4.0 pts per   40+, 2.0 pts per   30+
  2B Seasons:      2.0 pts per   45+, 1.0 pts per   35+

  MVP Awards:      8.0 pts per Award
  All-Star:        3.0 pts per Selection
  ROY Awards:      1.0 pts per Award
